IT seems there is a need to start to echo our voice so that Akanbi would hear that the street is not smiling. I stated some months ago that Nigeria is on the verge of economic collapse.
The majority of Nigerians are groaning under pain living from hand to mouth. Student loans that were proposed to provide succour to less privileged students are being kept under the carpet not knowing the exact period it would take effect. While President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to harp on empty bulaba rhetoric with the hope that the citizenry would be subservient to his phonetic-filled speeches, our beloved Nigeria keeps moving on a backward level of motion under his watch.
For how long will this madness continue before we reach the promised land? Will Nigerians face this untoward hardship without resulting in eating themselves?
Inflation is now at its highest peak. While our means of livelihood are being subsidized for poverty’s sake. What shall we say of the spate of insecurity happening all over the country? Is this the Renewed Hope Tinubu promised us?
At the height of the post-subsidy removal, PBAT rolled out various palliatives to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal. Yes, it is being done everywhere in the world. But if you ask me, Where are the CNG buses rolled out to tame transport inflation? I will say it has been about empty rhetoric. Yet again, Rice’s palliative to the less privileged masses ended in a shambling manner. While the expected beneficiaries didn’t get the produce, the rice palliative ended up in the hands of pallia-thieves. Akanbi, Is this the promise?
It was a moment of euphoria when PBAT signed another bill into law on June 12, 2023, tagged Students Loan Bill aimed at assisting students who couldn’t foot their school fees. Akanbi, the January promise you made to the students that the exercise would take place has just ended yesterday. While students are in dilemma, you choose to be in France having a ‘lavida’ moment with your kitchen cabinet members. Oh No!
The less I say is that part of President Buhari’s tragedy was his ineffectual style of leadership. Akanbi, your last months in office have not heralded any symbolic positive changes. Change the momentum!
You have more than enough time from now to change the whole scenario for good. Don’t fritter away the opportunities you are enjoying at the moment.
At this moment, The ill-educated yobs posing as Renewed Hope automatons should easily be ignored with their PR propaganda tool and maybe the only language this administration would finally understand is MASSIVE PROTEST.
