On Saturday 25th of September, 2021, the Kwara State police arrested a suspect on the allegation of killing his neighbour in Airport area, Ilorin, Kwara State.
In a report by a news medium (Not the Elites Watch), the suspect was identified as Azeez Akinloye and the victim’s name was said to be Akeem. The report also stated that both parties (the suspect and the victim) engaged in a duel using a machete.
In a bid to unveil the true picture of the situation, The Elites Watch’s reporter investigated the occurrence.

“He was a labourer who indulged in a clearing of bushes and working on building sites. We heard he was killed by three people when they invited him to join them work in clearing grasses. Two of the three people ran away and the suspect was caught dragging the remains of the victim.
“We were all shocked when we visited the scene, It was a terrible scene. Lako was helplessly on the floor in a pool of blood and no reason was confessed to us by the suspect on why he killed the victim,” he said.

“Lako is a popular guy in Egbejila community. He has been a known hustler for years who once managed the business of a popular Indian hemp-seller but recently turned a new leaf. If you don’t see him as a labourer for bricklayers, you’ll see him clearing bushes for people around the area for livelihood,” the resident disclosed.
According to another source who pleaded anonymity, he said the victim was mentally unstable due to the effect of drug abuse.
“the man in question was an Indian hemp-seller popularly called Lako, located at Obanisuwa along Egbejila road. He was mentally ill. Even a single tap towards him will draw him down,” he said.
