National Association of Kwara Students (NAKSS) National Headquarters, the apex indigenous students’ association in Kwara state under the leadership of Comrade MUFTAU, Mubarak Shittu (ATUNLUSHE) has announced the closure of the registration portal for a 5 days skills acquisition training.
The training which was earlier announced for five days witnessed a total number of 610 entrants and elapsed on the 29th November 2021. While 335 were males, 275 females applied respectively.
This brought about the 55% and 45% percentages respectively.
According to a press statement signed by the global president, He said: “It is important to note that within a space of five days, six hundred and ten applicants were received across the three senatorial districts in Kwara state with different choices of skills.
“Apparently, out of the 610 applicants received, 335 were male and 275 were females which represent 55% and 45% respectively.
“Applicants received in the choice of skills acquisition include pastries 127, yoghurt production 218, tye and dye 121, disinfectant production 68, and liquid wash 76. These equate to 21%, 36%, 19%, 11%, and 13% respectively.
“Applicants were received from the sixteen local governments in the state. Beginning from Ilorin West 112 applicants; Asa 33 applicants Baruten 13 applicants; Edu 56 applicants; Ekiti 8 applicants; Ifelodun 48 applicants; Ilorin East 63 applicants; Ilorin South 48 applicants; Irepodun 27 applicants; Isin 18 applicants; Kaima 53 applicants; Moro 17 applicants; Offa 42 applicants; Oke-Ero 10 applicants; Oyun 22 applicants and Pategi 45 applicants.
“Inclusively, the total entries received by each senatorial district includes Kwara North 197, Kwara Central 261, and Kwara South 152 which constitute 32%, 43%, and 25% consecutively.
“It should be noted that applicants submitted entries from various tertiary institutions in the country as well as secondary school leavers.
“This social development and means of self-reliance program is proudly sponsored by Alh. Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi, Commissioner, Revenue Fiscal and Mobilization Commission (RMAFC), Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Conclusively, applicants would be duly selected by putting the fair interest of each senatorial interest at heart.
It should be recalled that the training, according to an earlier statement, will be focusing on tye and dye, yoghurt production, pastries, liquid wash, and disinfectant production and was scheduled to hold at NLC hall, Ilorin starting from Thursday 25th November to Monday 29th November 2021.
Atunlushe, therefore, stressed that the one hundred selected applicants would be communicated via an invite text message alongside the date and venue for the commencement of the training.
Meanwhile, one hundred entrants will be admitted into the workshop out of the over six hundred applicants for the 5- days skill acquisition training programme.
