The Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa-led All Progressive Congress, APC, in Kwara State on Tuesday holds her stakeholders’ meeting in Ilorin, in its preparedness for the upcoming state congress.
Addressing the selected party chieftains, Elders, youths, and women stakeholders present at the meeting, Bolarinwa disclosed that the meeting which was promised to be periodic has come to stay, noting that the gathering will further bring timely information to the ears of party members.
He, therefore, affirmed that such gathering will be made available for likely questions which answers will give a clear direction to happenings within the party.
“When we talk about APC in Kwara, you are the proud members. This is not because you’re a member, it is because you’ve the love of the party at heart and I must congratulate you on that. Let me reiterate that we’re not running away for anyone and you must not also give room for any doubt. I want to once again declare that if anything happens to the party in the state, we all should know who to be held accountable.
“I must sincerely thank you all for the commitment and maturity displayed at the just concluded congresses across the 193wards and 16LGs of the state. You’ve shown to the nation that you’re different from them. You’ve equally displayed that you’re the true lovers of our party and God’s willing, the party shall bear good things for you when its returns to the right track.”
During the meeting, a minute silence and prayer session were observed in honour of the late Elder statesman Chief Rex Kolawole Olawoye.
“Oh, lord! may we never labour in vain? We pray our dear Chief Rex gets to the land that he dreamt of. We commit his household to your hands, come and be their father. Come provide for them their needs.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace, ” Rt. Hon. Benjamin Issa prayed.
In his further remark, the caretaker chairman said: “We must not lose sight of happenings in the party. We’re getting to the crossroad and I assure you that no matter the hurdles, we shall get to the promised land.
“I was told some people said I met with the governor, nothing is so disapproving than that. Some even went to say I met with Sen. Saraki in our preparation to quit the party. These are mere falsehoods purposely directed at confusing our teeming party members. Even if any meeting will suffice, you all will be adequately informed as I do not have any intention of meeting with any of them. ”
