Former Kwara State House of Assembly Speaker and Professor of Constitutional Law, Rt. Hon. Prof. Ali Ahmad has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Etsu, the League of Imams in Kwara State, and the entire people of Patigi Emirates over the demise of the Chief Imam of Patigi, Alhaji AbdulMaliq Ibn Mohammed.
According to a statement on Sunday by the Spokesperson for the Ali Ahmad Media Office, Steven Makinde, the former lawmaker described the death of the erudite Islamic scholar as sad and huge blow to the Muslim community which he said will be difficult to bear.
The statement reads, “I commiserate with the Etsu, the League of Imams in Kwara State, and the good people of Patigi Emirates, over the demise of an erudite Islamic scholar and Chief Imam of Patigi, Alhaji AbdulMaliq Ibn Mohammed, who died yesterday.
“I equally sympathized with the immediate family of the Islamic leader who served the Muslim community especially the Patigi Emirates with the fear of Allah.
“The late Chief Imam of Patigi was a trusted and pious religious leader, who dedicated his life to the spiritual growth of Patigi. His demise at this period has created a void which will be difficult to fill.”
While sympathizing with the immediate family of the foremost Islamic scholar, the former lawmaker prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the late Imam eternal rest and give his family and the entire people of Patigi the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
