Brig Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps has informed the employers of corps members not to allow them to embark on any journey.
The corp members were advised by The DG to avoid unauthorized journeys and if it is a must, approval must be gotten from the NYSC management
The DG spoke with corps members during a visit to the FCT Orientation Camp Kubwa, Abuja, ahead of Tuesday’s winding down of 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Orientation Course.
Ibrahim implored them to accept their posting in good faith, settle down and add value to their host communities to contribute to national development.
He likewise advised them to put in their very best in their places of primary assignment, serve as a good role model and also obey constituted authorities.
However, The corps members were warned against rejecting their places of primary assignment and changing them to other places as anyone caught would be penalised according to the NYSC bye-laws.
The DG said: “Don’t travel at night. If your journey is going beyond 6 pm, break the journey and pass the night in military barracks, NYSC Secretariats, Corps Lodges, among other safe places.
“Avoid night parties and don’t put yourself in harm’s way.”
He, therefore, warned the corps members against involving themselves in social vices like cybercrime, cultism for anyone found wanting will face the law.
