Professor of Constitutional Law and ex-Kwara State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Prof. Ali Ahmad on Monday paid a condolence visit to the family of the Late Mr Joseph Adebisi Abegunde, the beloved husband of the Kwara South PDP Senatorial District Woman Leader, Chief Mrs. Margaret Abegunde who died recently in Ilorin, the state capital.
According to a statement signed by Steven Makinde on behalf of the Ali Ahmad Media Office, the former lawmaker had arrived at Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital in the wee hours of Saturday.
The statement added that Ali joined the Iftar and Tafsir session alongside a multitude of Muslim faithful on Saturday and Sunday respectively at the GRA residence of the former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON.
Ali during the condolence visit extolled the virtues of the Late Abegunde and offered prayers for total comfort and repose of his soul. He, however, signed the condolence register praying for the comfort of the widow during the difficult time.
The entourage of the former speaker included notable stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Ilorin South LGA including the ex-Commissioner for Health, Hon. Suleiman Atolagbe Alege, and a host of others.
Also, the Oke-Ero Local Government PDP Chairman, Hon. Rotimi Owolabi received the entourage of the former lawmaker on behalf of the Woman Leader.
Speaking on behalf of the Abegunde family, the Kwara South PDP Senatorial District Woman Leader thanked the former speaker for sharing in their pains, while praying that Almighty Allah grant him abundant strength and longevity of life in his service to humanity.
