Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has stated that he will personally go to the court today with his lawyers.
He added that the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to allow him inspect electoral materials despite a court order granting his request will make him boycott his whistle-stop campaign for various Labour Party Governorship and state assembly candidates today.
Peter Obi in a tweet he posted on his official Twitter page on Wednesday disclosed that he is supposed to commence his whistle-stop campaign for various Labour Party (LP) Governorship and state assembly candidates today.
He alleged that his decision to appear in court today was due to INEC’s refusal to allow him to inspect the electoral materials (including the BVAS) used for the February 25th Presidential and National Assembly elections across the country.
The Labour Party presidential candidate, however, urged his party members and supporters to remain calm as he pursue due process and defer to the rule of law.
He further charged party members to continue to campaign for other contestants in the Labour Party and vote for contestants with Competence, Character, Capacity, and Compassion assuring them that a new Nigeria is possible.
