The Head of Mass Communications Department at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba in Lagos, Mike Osuji on Wednesday unveiled his latest book titled History and Politics of Nigeria – from Journalism Archives.
The unveiling ceremony was held at the Institution’s Hall, Lateef Jakande House, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Giving insight into the book, Dr Jide Johnson said the literary work is rich in throwing perspectives to Nigerian History and Politics because there’s no way one can separate a nation from its history or politics.

Mike Osuji, the author of the new book while fielding answers to questions from THE ELITES WATCH correspondent, he alluded that “Basically, I was inspired by the scarcity of comprehensive books on Nigerian History and politics.”
He disclosed that when he started teaching on this topic over a decade ago, he encountered challenges in gathering facts and had to migrate from Government and Social studies books to the other.
He added that he thought it won’t be nice of him to leave the field the way he met it and that he had to contribute his quota so upcoming students will have a comprehensive go-to textbook in Nigerian History and Politics.
The author further noted that part of the challenges faced in the process of producing the book was the cost of printing, adding that he spent over half a million in the process of printing the book.
The Ezendigbo of Badagry, HRM Micheal Okechukwu when asked for comment about the author, he said “The author is my good friend, a brother, and also a man of the people.”
