*Issa, Agbon, others emerge new LG executives
*Saraki participates, preaches equity, justice ahead of elections
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ilorin West Local Government Area had on Tuesday 5th of October, 2021 joined others across the state to conduct local government congress.
Party chieftains and members turn out en mass to participate in the congress which was held at the Former Okland Hotel, Agbo-Oba area, Ilorin, and monitored by several independent observers from within and outside the state.
The high point of the event was the consensus arrangements used to elect local government party officials through affirmation. At the congress, Ajikobi ward produced the Party’s local government chairman, while Adewole ward won the Youth Leader position. Other party executive positions was equally jostle among the twelve (12) wards that made up the local government area.
Mr. AbdulQadri Issah was elected the party Chairman, AbdulRahman Sulaiman Agbon was equally elected the Youth Leader of the party in the local government through the consensus forum.
Meanwhile, the immediate past Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader in Kwara State, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has said that existing unity and peace in the opposition party in the state would ensure its victory in the next general election.
He disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Ilorin, on Tuesday, after the PDP local government congress and membership e-Registration exercise at his Ajikobi Ward in the Ilorin West LGA of Kwara State. He further said that PDP is the only political party that is united and peaceful in the state.
The PDP leader, who charged party members to spread the message of hope among people, said that the party is ready to provide political leadership in the state come 2023.
“Let us all go and prepare for 2023 elections. It’s all clear that the PDP government is what people want. We’re committed and it’s left for us to go all out and sell the message of hope to our people.
“The PDP is the only party in the state that’s united and peaceful. For the progress of the state, it’s the PDP. We are ready to provide leadership come 2023,” he added.
