The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State will on Tuesday 5th October 2021 hold its local government congress across the 16 local government areas in the State.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Tunde Ashaolu made this disclosure in a statement released to newsmen on Monday in Ilorin, the state capital.
He urged party faithful to go out en masse to participate in the exercise to elect party officers at the local government levels in a bid to consolidate the successes recorded in the last Ward Congress across the 193 wards in the state.
In his words, “It is expected that Party members will conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner as they did in the Ward Congress, whilst any form of grievances or disagreement will be resolved using the internal mechanism of the Party.”
While expressing optimism that the congress would be hitch-free like the previous Ward Congress, Ashaolu assured that the Party’s internal mechanisms are activated to resolve whatever issue that arises before, during, or after the exercise.
He lauded the leadership of the party and most especially, the National Leader of the Party, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for keeping to the promise of 30% youth and women inclusiveness in the leadership selection.
The Kwara PDP Publicity Secretary also encouraged existing and intending members of the Party to use the opportunity of the congress to complete their online membership registration that is currently ongoing across the state stressing that various public enlightenment materials are been deployed to educate the public on the process.
