The political crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Ondo state has taken a new turn as members of the PDP Crusader Group seek Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, intervention to avert polarization of the major opposition party in the state.
In a statement issued by the State Coordinator of the group under the aegis of Peoples Democratic Party Crusader Group in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Hon. Mayokun Akinmoladun, said the intervention of the governors in the crisis would enable the ongoing repositioning of the party ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the Ondo state.
Akinmoladun who expressed concerns, lamented the unfair handling of the major opposition party affairs by the highest organs of the party both at the state and at the national levels.
He, meanwhile, reaffirmed members’ commitment to join hands with party leaders in addressing internal squabbles within the state working committee in a bid to put to rest any existing crisis.
The group coordinator, therefore advocated for the peaceful conduct of party members, which he said “is necessary before the forthcoming election.”
Recall that the crisis rocking the party in Ondo state witnessed a wild drama with the suspension of the state Chairman of the PDP, Hon Fatai Adams, by members of the State Working Committee, while Hon. Tola Alabere was appointed as acting chairman, worsening the existing crisis in the party.
