May be due to Brimah’s experience in leadership set the pace of Kwapreneur 1.0 as a great historical trajectory which Olododo proudly showcase in the celebration of 2.0 phase.
Who knows what the future will say about today?
At late midnight on Wednesday, I read a post about Kwapreneur 2.0 with the hope to get an application link followed but unfortunately not. 24 hours into the program, the Executive Governor of Kwara State made a press release on his social media which portrays that Kwapreneur 2.0 will be a grant unlike a loan as the case of 1.0.
Unfortunately no application link for Kwarans to showcase their ideas and products and likewise no expert to cross-check facts of various prospective beneficiaries.
In the last year phase, we all witnessed transparency and accountability in which Kwarans present their various business othe n equal opportunity given to all. But it is bereft of any clear evidence that 2.0 is for growth and development plan but rather party funding strategy.
Just to have a piece of clear evidence, I move into the banquet hall where the event is taken place and I saw nothing more but a real definition of ‘This is an APC program’. Are we here for Kwapreneur or APCpreneur? As I move into the hall of the program it is so unfortunate that no pitching and showcase of business ideas and products is taken place.
What comes to mind is how do they get this list? To get more insight, there was a registration point at the corner of the banquet hall entrance where some gentlemen are documenting accounts of beneficiaries. I said to them I wanna get registered, I have a business that needs support, I was challenged who is your referral/sponsor/principal. which means a son of nobody can’t make it to the list. Just a true meaning of nepotism and favouritism at its peak.
Wow, it shocked me not but unfortunately, I lost hope in the agenda/ governance style of the acclaimed ‘peoples’ Governor’.
To tell you a little of what transpired, the beneficiaries who received the displayed cheque were 10 (ten) of which later a disabled man was added making it 11(eleven) acclaimed Entrepreneurs to receive 1 million naira each and others to receive 100,000 each.
Unfortunately, the CPS to the governor said each beneficiary got 1 million each which is untrue. But none of them dares to deny that when they didn’t make it to the list on a competency basis.
The Youths are the catalyst to every Societal development, for this, I challenge KWASSIP to release a database of the beneficiaries and their proposed or doing businesses.
True governance is beyond passing fake information or using propaganda to influence the masses or gain public sympathy.
Kwarans shall not forget how their resources are being shared based on nepotism and favouritism.
