…holds fifth edition of ‘Tell A Teenager’yearly show
…do not be distracted and intimidated, Advocate urges teenagers
As part of their passion and commitment towards the upliftment of teenagers particularly a Girl-Child, An edutainment firm, Raphow 10 Entertainment & Empowerment World has awarded the Former Kwara State House of Assembly Aspirant (Ilorin-Central) and Leader of the Audacity of Hope Movement, Alhaji AbdulMumeen Saliu Olaitan popularly called Hon. Lee, as the ‘Monsieur Valentine’.
This year’s edition themed ‘NOW THAT YOU ARE YOUNG’ featuring Lecture, Speech Making, Choreography, Music, and Dance, held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Was Lat College, Opposite Olowogbowo Tax Office, Apongbon Lagos Island.
Speaking at the event, The Host, Mr. Olusegun Raphael, said the awards were conferred on the honourees due to their “contributions towards community growth and development of humanity.”
He further extolled the virtues of teenagers whilst reiterating the organization’s readiness in shaping the future of the young ones while growing up.
At the Speech Making session, Representatives were picked from various schools in attendance to participate in the Speech Making Competition where the three best participants who emerged from the contest received a promise of guaranteed admission into the Better by Far University in Ilorin.
Delivering his lecture, Barrister Monday Kentujaya narrated how he acquired his first degree in Mass communication before proceeding for another degree in Law. He stressed that after his call to bar, he decided to return to the classroom due to his passion for teaching.
Kentuyaja, however, advised the teenagers to rather direct their energy to impactful courses and stop wasting their time on inordinate endeavours.
For Mrs. Omidore, she said: “Not only academics should be your priority, but you must also focus on vocational training, skill acquisition. You can start somewhere. First thing is to have self-determination. If you’re to succeed in life, have passion for what you do. Don’t be distracted at any point. Don’t be intimated. ”
Awardees at the event include: HRM Oba (Engr.) Nurudeen Osoja (Onikogbon of Ikogbon); Former Aspirant of the State Assembly (Ilorin Central) and Leader of The Audacity of Hope Movement, Alhaji AbdulMumeen Olaitan Saliu popularly known as Hon. Lee; Dr. Larry; Mrs. Omidore; Mr. Qozeem; Mrs. Abiola; Mr. David Amore among others.
