“We will train them and send them back to their local government because we believe if you bring back a policeman who knows his community will be more effective than the one that will come from Borno to Kwara State.”

The Inspector-General of Police (IG), Usman Alkali Baba has revealed that the recruitment exercise into the Nigerian police force will commence very soon.
Baba disclosed this while speaking with officers and men of the Police Force during his one-day working visit to Kwara State Police Command on Wednesday, 15th, September 2021.
He said: “We’re going to start our recruitment exercise very soon. But this time around, for those of you that are citizens or indigenes, the directive from Mr President is that we have to recruit from all the 774 LGs of the country.
“We will train them and send them back to their local government because we believe if you bring back a policeman who knows his community will be more effective than the one that will come from Borno to Kwara State.”
He, however, advised the police to be morally upright if they want to excel in the police force.
“Support those who are close to you so that they can support you in the discharge of your duties and responsibilities. Remember, anything that comes to you in a bad way will of course end in a bad way,” he urged.
